SCAM ALERT: Fraudulent WhatsApp and Text Recruitment Messages
There has been a significant rise in reports of scams within the recruitment industry, with fraudsters approaching unsuspecting victims about highly paid roles via text and WhatsApp messages; their objective is to trick you into sharing personal information and potentially hand over money.
Oakstone is a reputable company. We do not and never have approached potential candidates in this manner. Sadly, our company name is currently being used fraudulently by scammers. The team of consultants at Oakstone pride themselves on their professional approach and would never make contact via these platforms asking for personal information.
If someone has contacted you via SMS Text, or WhatsApp claiming to work for Oakstone International, this is a scam. We advise you not to respond to the message, to block the number and to report the fraud by forwarding to 7726, a free reporting service provided by OFCOM; you can find more information about this service HERE.
Here are some tips on how to identify and manage these messages:
If it’s a message you were not expecting to receive, then ignore it
It comes from several email address you do not recognize
If there are links in the message, do not click on them
The message offers unrealistic salary information or working arrangements
You are asked to provide personal information such as your CV
You are asked for money
The message is poorly written and contains errors

We want to apologize to anyone who has received one of these messages and reassure you that we are doing everything possible to stop this.
